Schools & Pen-Pals
Is your school looking for a really worthwhile project in which to get involved?
- One that sends you regular updates?
- One that twins UK children with their Kenyan counterpart based on age, interests and gender?
- One that encourages an exchange of ideas that increases understanding between the two cultures?
...then look no further!
Future Hope Montessori School operates a very successful 'Pen-Pal' scheme that does just that!
The idea is that the school or family of a UK child sponsors a minimum of £10 per month, which covers the cost of food for their Future Hope counterpart for a month, or £20 per month, which covers all of the expenses for that child. We request that the donations be made by Standing Order.
Our Goodwill Ambassador in charge of Pen-Pals, Fiona Spurling, is happy to come and make a presentation to your school. She can explain a bit about what we do and how the children, whilst from wildly differing backgrounds, are very alike in many ways and how rewarding the Pen-Pal exchange can be. Visit our Contact Us Page for Fiona's details.
Currently we have the following schools participating in the scheme:
Marlborough House School – Hawkhurst, Kent
Rolvenden Primary School – Rolvenden, Kent
Dunsford Primary, Dunsford, Devon
Leigh Primary, Leigh, Kent
